LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Apple iPhone 5s: Boot Time Comparison

The recently released LG G3 is the latest flagship around and is obviously entitled to a lot of comparisons. In two separate videos, the LG G3 is compared to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Apple iPhone 5S in the boot up speed department.

LG G3, Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5S get pitted against each other in a boot time test

In the first video, we see the LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 right next to each other and both are already turned on. We get to watch the reviewer power down both of the devices at the same time, and it seems that the LG G3 powers down slower than the Galaxy S5. Once both smartphones are completely off we get to see them boot up together. The LG G3 boots up first, but only by a few seconds, nothing major. The LG G3 may have booted up to the lock screen first, but it took a while before it loaded the clock/weather widget on the home screen. So, while the LG G3 got to the lock screen first, the Galaxy S5 was unlocked and loaded everything that it needed first.

In the second video, we get to watch the LG G3 vs the Apple iPhone 5s. Just like before, the video starts with both devices already on and at the home screen. This time it seemed that both of the devices powered down at the same speed. The reviewer says that the G3 ended up powering down a little faster, though. Once both of these were completely powered down, we get to watch them boot up. We get to see the same thing happen here. The LG G3 booted to the lock screen before the Apple iPhone could, but then the G3 took longer to load the clock/weather widget. To be fair, the iPhone doesn’t have widgets to load, so take that for what it’s worth.
