10 Best Apps Only on iOS




1. Paper (free):News readers get the social network treatment with Paper. Facebook's own news reader combines the design aesthetics of magazine style readers such as Flipboard, curated articles from a variety of sources such as Time and National Geographic, and your own Facebook News Feed. The image-centric and horizontal, card-driven interface is a refreshing change from Facebook's norm. The app even works great as an alternative to the default Facebook app.

2. Accompli (free) : Accompli is a fantastic little email and organizingapp that eliminates the hassle of flipping between your calendar and multiple email apps by bringing them all under one umbrella. Accompli features support for Gmail and Google Apps, as well as Microsoft Exchange and Office 365, with zippy fast predictive search and a files and contacts manager that keeps your frequent interactions and shared files within easy reach. A built-in calendar and location sharing feature make it a snap to manage your schedule and suggest meet-up times and places.

3. Camera+ ($1.99) : Camera+ is more than just a high-end replacement for the default iOS camera app, it's also a full on photo editing and management tool. The app features a wealth of shooting modes, filters, and scene settings. The Clarity feature allows users to quickly add life to a dark photo. Cropping, borders, captioning tools and other special effects give you a lot of other options to spruce up your snapshots.

4.Union ($1.99) : Pixite's Union is an impressive image editing tool that allows users to quickly and easily take two images and then create silhouetted, superimposed or double-exposed images using all or part of both images. A magic wand tool allows you to easily remove backgrounds, while a series of masking, layering and editing tools make adjusting colors, transparency and other settings a snap.

5. Dark Sky ($3.99) : Kickstarter-funded weather app Dark Sky impressed many with its hyper-accurate local weather forecasting, with "down to the minute" rain and snow predictions using radar mapping. Dark Sky's one Achilles heel was the lack of longer term forecasting, but that's no longer the case with the latest major update. Incorporating features from the Forecast.io webapp, the latest version of Dark Sky now includes a 24-hour and next week forecasting, in addition to an iOS 7 interface update, and new light backgrounds making the radar maps easier to read.

6. LoungeBuddy (Free) : Business travelers and other frequent flyers are going to love LoungeBuddy, an app that helps users locate airport lounges at more than 400 airports globally, complete with crowd-sourced reviews, details such as amenities, operating hours and more. A handy Lounge Access Wizard allows users to enter their trip details, service class and any applicable memberships such as, elite status, or credit cardsin order to present you with nearby facilities that you can access for free or for a fee.

7. TweetBot ($4.99) : Sometimes, it seems as if Twitter alternative apps are a dime a dozen, but Tweetbot stands out in the crowded field by delivering a great interface and powerful features to users. The app allows for multiple timeline access, the ability to mute specific users, hashtags, or services, timeline syncing across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and more.

8. Infinity Blade 3 ($6.99) : The Infinity Blade series has always been a great showcase piece for iOS gaming, taking advantageof Apple's latest hardware releases combined with the tried and tested Unreal Engine to deliver jaw-dropping graphics. Infinity Blade 3 continues that tradition, with players taking the fight to the God-King as the fierce Siris or the stealthy Isa, doing battle against the tyrant's minions in frenetic swipe-and-tap combat.

9. Garage Band (Free) : Garage Band does its level best to cram an entire music studio right into the palm of your hand. An all-in-one musical powerhouse, Garage Band allows you to play your musical iPad or iPhone like a musical instrument, with multi-touch support letting you turn it into a virtual keyboard, drum set, or even an entire orchestra. You can even experiment with creating your own songs, with the app allowing you to save and mix up to 32 musical tracks, add special effects, looping, and other audio tricks, with the option of saving your creation or sharing it online with friends.

10. Reeder 2 ($4.99) : The first Reeder was a fantastic Google Reader app for iPad and iPhone, and its successor, Reeder 2, picks up the mantle and improves on the original. Picking up after the demise of Google Reader, Reeder 2 now supports a wide variety of newsfeed services, such as Feedly, Feed Wrangler, Readability and Feedbin. It displays stories in a dense, no-nonsense email-style lists and clean article views that strip away ads and other unnecessary extras.
